BYO Booze / Relive Your Fave Kids’ Parties At Sydney’s ‘Paint & Sip’ Bar

Given the ever-increasing bizarre nature of places to get a drink in this world – cat cafes, sitcom-themed bars, and as a Sydney-sider, any place after 3am – this really only seems like a natural progression.

An actual, honest-to-goodness booze-friendly art studio is coming from Brisbane to Sydney, and it’s here to let you tap in to your inner, craft-obsessed child but with a v. v. important addition: BYO booze.

~ Yes, yes, let the creative booze juices flow through you ~

It’s called Cork & Chroma, and it’s opening on Holt St in Surry Hills sometime mid-April. Brisbanites may already be familiar with the paint-and-ship-bottle: book a session, do a grog run, crack it open and start painting.

Their wall art is heaps appropriate hey:

If you want, you can just paint whatever the hell you feel like, and take your canvas home at the end of night. Or – as it the norm but by no means the requisite – you learn how to paint that class’ particular painting. They’ve got about 30 or so paintings on the go at any one time, so you pick the date based on which one you want to take home:

i.e.

Owners Hillary and B.J. promise us that even if you’re heaps shit, you usually come away with something approaching decent.

“Even people who say they don’t have an artistic bone in their body go home with something they like,” Hillary told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
And if you don’t… idk, there’s probably nothing anyone can do for you. Try paper mâché.
