The goalkeeper for the Brazilian football team who were aboard the plane crash which killed a reported 76 of its 81 passengers has died in hospital after being pulled from the wreckage.
Marcos Danilo Padilha was one of the reported six survivors taken from the wreck of the place, which was travelling from Bolivia to Medellin, Colombia and carrying Brazilian football team Chapecoense. According to The Sun, Danilo died in hospital moments after speaking to his wife on the phone.

“Six people were rescued alive, but unfortunately one died. The rest of the occupants unfortunately died. The tragic toll is 76 victims,” Jose Gerardo Acevedo, regional police commander, told journalists.
Danilo was sat next to teammate, defender Alan Ruschel, who also survived the crash and is currently in a stable condition. The pair posed for images on the plane prior to takeoff which are now being widely circulated:
They also filmed a Snapchat, in which Ruschel can be heard to say “in not long, we’ll be arriving in Colombia. We’re coming Colombia.”
