If you aren’t familiar with Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, let us jog your memory.
Remember the politician that got stuck on a trip wire during the 2012 London Olympics? That was him. The British MP who said he might want to write erotic fiction after politics? That was him, too. The blue Boris Bikes round London? That wasn’t him, but he’ll take credit for it all the same.
He makes faces like this:
Cool. So anyway – this guy, the actual Mayor of London, was caught on camera telling a cab driver to “fuck off and die.”
A passing Black Cab driver saw Boris on his bike, and used the opportunity to vent his frustrations that the Mayor wasn’t doing enough to protect the Black Cab industry.
“You’re one of them mate. That’s what you are. One of them.”
Pretty much any other politician on the planet would take the high road and just kept on peddlin’, but not old Boris. He fired back in a posh-as-fuck, Eton-educated accent: “Why don’t you fuck off and die, why don’t you fuck off and die – and not in that order.”
And everyone’s kind of treating it like no biggie, classic Boris, chortle chortle, because his ~personal brand~ is complete and utter nitwit.

The Sun, who published the original video, found ‘a source close to Boris’ to give a little explainer. (Would bet money on the ‘source’ being on Boris’ payroll, btw.)
“Boris has dozens of chance conversations with Londoners every week,” the source said. “Many are productive and friendly, some are colourful, I know most end happily. I believe this particular cabbie however is a serial heckler.”
The general secretary of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association, Steve McNamara, says that Boris is getting abuse from cabbies everywhere he goes.
And just because we wouldn’t let a golden opportunity to rewatch the clip of Boris getting stuck on a tripwire and hanging there like overripe fruit, here it is again:
