Body Found Wrapped In Plastic In Creek Near Newcastle Identified As 29 Y.O. Danielle Easey

A 29-year-old Booragul woman has been identified as the person whose body was wrapped in plastic and dumped in a creek near Lake Macquarie.

Danielle Easey‘s body was found floating in water by motorists in Cockle Creek on Saturday morning but remained unidentified until Monday. Reports suggest Easey had been living with family in Booragul, about 20kms out of Newcastle, but had more recently been staying in multiple locations around the area.

A crime scene has been established at the creek and emergency services remain at the scene. The body is currently undergoing forensic examination.

Police from NSW’s Crime Command Homicide Squad have established Strike Force Furzer as investigations continue into the circumstances of Easey’s death.
