The same day that events promoting Marriage Equality were held in the Sydney and Melbourne CBD, breakdancing Australian Party MP Bob Katter has made a vague retraction of the homophobic smear campaign his party engaged against Queensland LNP leader Campbell Newman on an appearance on Channel Ten’s panel show The Circle.
When panelist Meshel Laurie broaches the (evidently sensitive) issue with Katter he rebukes her having mentioned the topic stating that he does not think about gay people, never has, never likely to in the future. He says he agreed to the aforementioned campaign in a “moment of weakness”, and when pressed by the panel his defensiveness escalates into proper sulking. Watch the clip below.
