BLAZE ON: NSW To House Biggest Choof Farm In The Southern Hemisphere

Whilst Australia still lags behind a lot of first-world countries when it comes to access to medicinal marijuana, and the prospect of recreational weed is quite simply fucken’ yonks off, one big achievement is looking possible with the news NSW could soon be home to the biggest cannabis cultivation operation in the Southern Hemisphere.

The epically YUGE choof farm will be set up in Richmond Valley in the state’s Northern Rivers region, if plans by Canadian cannabis investment firm PUF come to fruition following a deal with the local council government.

The 1 million-square-foot (93,000 square-metres or 9 hectare) greenhouse operation would contain “large scale manufacturing, processing and office facilities for the cultivation, production and manufacture of medical cannabis and associated products in Australia“, according to a press release.

At full scale, the new facility will have the capacity to support annual production of 100,000 kilograms of high quality cannabis, which equates to an associated annual revenue generation potential of between C$800 million [$8821m AUD] and C$1.1 billion [$1.13b AUD] based on current pricing metrics in the Australian cannabis marketplace.

100,000 kilograms? That’s a lotta jazz cigarettes, my friends.

The local government are frothing for the venture as well, with Richmond Valley Council General Manager Vaughan Macdonald saying:

We are very excited by the prospect of working with an international company like PUF to support the development of this important new industry which will significantly add to our gross regional product, create approximately 300 direct new jobs in our local economy.

Jobs, a shit tonne of medicinal ganj and the trophy of biggest (legal, we assume) weed farm in the Southern Hemisphere?

Blaze one up to celebrate fam, this shit’s lit.
