It was only in November that Opposition Leader Bill Shorten transcended the figurative to the literal when he was involved in a car crash in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton.
Now it would appear that his driving skills are not improving any, as the man earnestly hoping to be PM when he grows up was caught texting while driving at 40 km/h.
The video – which the witness says was filmed while the car was swerving between lanes – was taken August 23, and published by News Corp on Thursday as an early Christmas gift to us all.
“Like most drivers, I always try to do the right thing. But there’s no doubt that using your phone while driving is the wrong thing to do. There’s no excuse for it. I shouldn’t have done it and won’t do it again.”
Thank you, Bill, but detention starts at 3:30pm sharp.
