“Be Stupid” By Nirrimi Hakanson

Nirrimi Hakanson is the genetically rare spawn of an Aboriginal artist and a Swedish-Australian hippie. At 13 she picked up her first camera. At 17 she became the youngest recipient of the SOYA awards after taking first prize in the Photography category. Now, at just 18 years of age, Hakanson’s mounting accolades include features in Yen, Creative and Oyster Magazines as well as her first ever brand campaign for Diesel’s AW/10 “Be Stupid” series (see below).

I know, I know. It’s easy to feel enraged and inadequate and old when faced with youthful over-achievers of Hakanson’s ilk, but the exuberance of her work (a perfectly fit for the brief) will brighten up your day or at least restore your faith in the laze about constituents of Generation Y.
