Put a fork in yer steak, Australia, it’s done – done good, as it’s officially the world’s greatest, following the winner of the first World Steak Challenge being announced overnight.
Team Australia came out first among seventy other entrants from ten countries around the globe – all competing in the ultimate championship at London’s Hyde Park yesterday.
Jack’s Creek of Willow Tree, NSW took the top spot, with their 450-day-old grain-fed Wagyu. It doesn’t really look like much. But you just know that bb is fine.
And the worlds best steak is…… Jacks Creek Wagyu from Australia! #wsteakchallenge pic.twitter.com/bW85sxZYsD

The entrant of the steak was a German meat exporter, who said the cut was “quite unique“, containing just the right marbling for heat resistance in cooking.
The steaks were, obviously, high, and the rigorous testing included both raw and cooked stages.
