Aussie Economist Faces 5 Years In Jail Over Wild London Drug Sex Parties

A former high-ranking Westpac official has been sentenced to five years imprisonment, after he was found to have supplied illicit drugs during chemsex parties at flat in London’s West End.

James Shugg, who has featured as a media commentator for ABC, Sky News, and the BBC, was found to have operated as part of a drug ring providing “wholesale quantities” of cocaine, methamphetamine, and mephedrone.

The 53-year-old, whose salary reportedly topped out around the $400,000 mark, was also found to use $2,000 of methamphetamine a week.

A 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man also copped to drug supply charges, and were sentenced to five and four years behind bars, respectively.
