Aussie Dude’s D&M With Islamic Uber Driver Goes Viral In Wake Of Paris Attacks

There’s been no shortage of emotional posts ‘going viral’ since the terror attacks in Paris last Friday that claimed the lives of 129 people, but we haven’t reached saturation point quite yet – here’s another one worth posting.

This one’s a little closer to home; it’s the exchange between an Aussie muso and his Sydney Uber driver, about Islam, violence, and the extremists who are using the former to justify the latter.
“These people say they act under the name of Islam,” the unnamed driver said. “I’ve studied religion, theology. The etymology of the word Islam comes from a word that means peace.”

The passenger who wrote about the experience on Facebook, Darren Hanlon, said he did so because “I just wanted to tell you about my brief random conversation with a sad Muslim Sydney Uber driver, whose religion is being taken away from him.”
