Aurora – Mammoth Charcoal Installation

It’s probably fairly debatable that charcoal was man’s first artistic tool. Cavemen drawing Yaks onto the side of caves. Matt Huynh has retraced his anthropological beginnings and blackened up a nice big piece of canvas at Lammington Drive for all to see.

‘Aurora’ is a single, large-scale charcoal and pigment drawing on 100% cotton watercolour paper. It will run the entire length of the gallery.

Matt Huynh has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across Australia and has produced several illustrated books. His commercial clients have included Rolling Stone Australia, Surfing World, FHM Magazine, Notebook Magazine, Business Week, Incu Clothing, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and Powerhouse Museum
