Astronaut Shares Year-In-Space Spotify Playlist As He Orbits Earth

In space, nobody can hear you scream. They can hear you stream, though.

Astronaut Scott Kelly, as part of his awe-inspiring #yearinspace, has let his own personal Spotify playlist loose on the cosmos. As it turns out, having music up there sounds pretty bloody spesh: “Some weekend mornings, I float to the cupola with my coffee and listen as I reflect on this journey, looking down at our beautiful world on which most of us live.”
Way to give us some serious and incurable FOMO, dude.

Anyway, the 28-song-strong playlist covers a broad spectrum of pop and rock, and features the government-mandated Pink Floyd track ‘Wish You Were Here’, second only to ‘Major Tom’ as necessary space-travel music.

To get the full experience, hold off on shuffling, as Kelly says “I listen to these songs on this playlist in this particular order because they loosely capture the idea of a year in space from beginning to end for me.”
