How good are summer breaks, right? Sure, you could have a few political run-ins with members of your extended family during Chrissy lunch, but for the most part its an extremely relaxing affair.

Why?

Hmmmm, it might have something to do with the noticeable lack of working for those contemptible powers that be every waking hour of your existence.

Then, in what seems like the blink of the eye, it's all over red rover. Your annual leave has evaporated and you're back slaving away to keep a roof over your head + put grub on your $200 IKEA table – and while that's less than ideal, the worst part is that you're missing our you beaut Aussie summer.

Fret not, lovers of beach-appropriate weather – we've conceived a few ways to make the most of the summer days that remain.

CHOW DOWN IN THE GR8 OUTDOORS

Depending on where you work / how much of d-bag your employer is, you've probably got close to an hour to eat your lunch. Don't just coop yourself up in your break room or at your desk, go forth and inhale the sweet scent of freedom. By eating outside, you'll get to enjoy your meal while appreciating the warmer weather (unless it's too hot – seek refuge in the nearest A/C'd locale you can find).

Better yet, by exposing your skin to small amounts of Vitamin D during the day, your natural body clock registers what time it is – rather than being out of whack from being indoors without sunshine all day – which has been known to help you fall asleep faster.

BE A COCK-A-DOODLE YOU BY RISING EARLIER

Feel free to skip this one, haters of the AM. But, for the rest of you who are somewhat tolerable at the crack of, have a think about getting up earlier than normal. Even though Daylight Savings cooks the time of sunrise, the morning bright will be hot on your tail – allowing you to squeeze in some activities before heading to work.

What's more ~summer~ than: poached eggs + avo on toast for breakfast, beach strolls, walking your doggo, getting your yoga on, or even enjoying being a functional human in the AM before the hellish heat hits? NOTHING. NOTHING I TELLS YA.

DON'T BE UP IN THE GYM WORKING ON YO' FITNESS

What, you're gonna finish work and head to an indoor gym? ROOKIE BLOODY ERROR. Even on the hotter days, you'll usually find relief from the heat towards the later stage of the day, so shake up your fitness routine by working out amongst Mumma Nature. In Sydney, for example, there's a host of places with equipment set up for public use like in Camperdown Park and Prince Alfred Park.

Live your most #Fitspo life, people. Live it.

GET YOUR KIT OFF & GO FOR A NOCTURNAL DIP

Sure, you might have missed the chance to have a splash during the day because of that darn jay-oh-bee, but there's ample time to dip your toes / the entirety of your body in a body of water once COB's hit. While pools are obviously open quite late, try for a more authentic, natural experience (because you missed out on hitting the beach during business hours) like the sea-water-filled goodness of Bronte Pool.

GET MASSIVELY AMPED TO CAMP

Arguably, there's nothing more synonymous with summer than camping. Like, you're putting yourself balls deep in the elements – you're as one with nature as you can flippin' get – and ain't that what it's all about?

Be a decent human though and adhere to fire bans if you're going full bush. No one wants to decimate a small town in an effort to roast a marshmallow.

COOL YO'SELF BEFORE YOU WRECK YO'SELF

Our last idea re: keeping dem summer feels alive and well is to highlight the idiocy of something we've all been guilty of – drinking a scorching hot coffee in summer.

DRINKING A HOT DRINK WHEN IT'S HOT? SACRILEGE.

We do, however, appreciate that you've gotta get your caffeine in one way or another. So, if you're game on getting your paws around a chilled iteration of your regular cup of Joe, try the new Iced Coffee and Coffee Melt (hot coffee poured over a frozen creamy Peters base) now available at 7-Eleven. Just grab one from the freezer section of yo' local or head HERE to learn more.
