Who BARRY PATENAUDE
What “Drawing Attention” is the debut solo show by Sydney-based illustrator Barry Patenaude. His inspiration is driven from inside the home, paying particular attention to the kitchen and a preoccupation with dining. Using a dense drawing technique Barry aims to expose the fascinating detail of items you happen across in day-to-day life – like a bear head mounted on the wall.

Who aMBUSH Gallery presents ALTERATIONS, DISTURBANCES & RIPS
What Sampling and tapping into the ubiquitous scraps of modern life Alterations, Disturbances and Rips is an exhibition stretching the bounds of collage as an artistic medium. Artists on board are Danilo Brando (Brazil / NSW), Hilary Sloane (VIC), Joel Lambeth (NSW), Kareem Rizk (VIC) and Mauro Palmieri (VIC), bringing to an end a fantastic 2011 for the inspiring crew behind aMBUSH Gallery.

Who MATISSE – Drawing Life
What GoMA is playing host to another modern master: Matisse. ‘Matisse: Drawing Life’ is the most comprehensive exhibition of Henri Matisse’s prints and drawings ever mounted. Presented in partnership with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the exhibition includes more than 300 drawings, prints and illustrated books by one of the twentieth century’s greatest artists.
