What Brisbane’s Nine Lives Gallery, local label Vanguard & James St are teaming up to present “Dreamworld Pt. 2” by “performance artist” Dylan Quirk who works across a range of media including sculpture, video, drawing, painting and performance. His work focuses on the creation process and his performance of action painting is not to be missed.

Who CHRIS BOOTH
What Chris Booth’s long awaited exhibition “Super-Pop MK3” has opened at Metro Gallery. The show encompasses seven high reliefs and nine works on paper in Booth’s distinct style. Describing his approach as ‘Lichtenstein goes to Osaka’, Booth is a self-proclaimed pop-art and anime fanatic.

Who SIDEWAYZ 2011
What With too many contributing artists to mention “Sidewayz 2011” is an annual charity exhibition hosted by The National Grid raising cash for earthquake relief in both Christchurch and Japan. The silent auction features snowboards and skate decks designed by the likes of Jimmy Neilly, KON, Ellie Schroeder, Pinky, Stylo, Ben Frost, Dave Kaziro and E.L.K among others, so head along with your pockets jingling.

What Nouveau-Pop darling Jasper Knight’s latest body of work titled “Sydney Boat Show” unsurprisingly takes its inspiration and subject matter from the annual Sydney International Boat Show – an event that has been running since 1968.

Who ENJOY RIDE
What The “Enjoy Ride” exhibition is a photographic and typographic interpretation of “joyride”. It will include images shot by Daniel “Faz? Farrell and Joshua Heath as well as works from Typographic artist Wing Lau. Collectively the images explore the emotion and toil associated with long days on the empty roads of rural Australia.

Who A4 PAPER FESTIVAL
What Presented by The Paper Convention, a collective dedicated to the documentation of paper expressionism, the festival will showcase the most extraordinary creations crafted from paper; from small objects & figures, large-scale installations, handcrafted creations, self-published zines, three-dimensional graphic sculptures made by 12 designers/artists from different disciplines. Sounds awesome.
