Well this is the final art wrap of 2010 and, we don’t know about you, but we’ve had an amazing year of viewing and experiencing beautiful, provocative, inspiring artworks by a broad spectrum of artists covering a shitload of mediums: including Anthony Lister, WeBuyYourKids, Ryan Heywood, Yimmy Yayo (no relation to Tony), Valentino Garavani, Damien Hirst, Sarah Larnach, Spencer Tunick, Sidney Nolan, Blek Le Rat, James Jirat Patradoon, Ken Done, Romance Was Born, Douglas Kirkland, Shida, Aldous Massie, Claudio Kirac, Ben Frost, Rex Dupain, Vexta, Jacob Ring, Ron Mueck, Howard Arkley… 2010 has provided hell fun times for art lovers all around Australia, so to all the artists and galleries we say thank you for your dedication, talent and party spirit. See you next year.

Who ‘A SHOT IN THE DARK’
What Sydney watering hole The Cricketer’s Arms is hosting another excellent group show featuring 30 photographers from sydney, melbourne, mexico and texas displaying their work, all prints for sale on the night. The brief for the images was “exploring the darker light of day”. Drinks and pash options promised.

Who LUSH
What Definitely NOT one for the kiddies or those easily offended. Graffiti writer Lush has a great sense of humour – one heavily steeped in T & A and general naughtiness, so leave your daughters at home and bring your wallet because this stuff is for sale. This is lush’s turn to cash in on the street-art money making roller coaster. Backwoods are also stressing that FREE BEER will be an integral part of the evening.

Who OH REALLY FUNDRAISER
What Oh Really in Sydney suburb Newtown has brought you exhibitions of some of the greatest local talent’s like Phibs, Ears, Mini Graff, Teazer and Beastman, as well as a whole bunch of fantastic interstate artists. If you want Oh Really to keep doing their thing you’ve got to show support and donate generously to their mission of making your eyes happy. No matter how much you give you’re still getting a bargain. Their annual fundraiser will feature live painting by Joe Purtle and Yoko, as well as donated paintings by sydney artists Ears, SMC3, Adam Parquette, Vars, Syke and more.

Who SIMON LOVELACE
What English born pop artist Simon Lovelace is exhibiting his latest collection of multimedia works includes painting, photography, screen printing and music production. Influenced by pop art culture and surreal narrative, his work explores themes of mortality, sexuality and the taboo. Beer also.

Who BEN BROWN
What The graphically charged imagery of artist Ben Brown explores the kinda linear themes of celebrity, junk culture, zombies and skulls. ‘Immortal’ is a collection of dynamic new works in ink and paint by one of the finest comic-inspired artists around.
When Opening Friday 10th December 6-9pm. Exhibition is open from 11th December 2010 to 24th January 2011.

What The final Nine Lives show for 2010 is a win: a huge lineup of some of the best artists Queensland has got on offer and a few out-of-towners thrown in there too. The gallery is relocating to a bigger and better space next year so get yourself to the Ann Street spot for one last blow out. It’ll be nostalgic and it’ll be a party. Tis the season right?
