Ariana Grande’s Mum Reportedly Sheltered Young Fans Backstage After Blast

Ariana Grande’s mother was in the Manchester Arena at the time of yesterday’s blast and helped shelter a group of young people backstage, TMZ reports.

Joan Grande was reportedly seated in the front row and was about to leave to visit her daughter backstage at the time of the bombing, which took 22 lives and injured scores more.
Witnesses say Joan and members of Ariana’s security detail ushered the fans around her backstage, where they stayed until they could safely leave the venue.
The report does not detail if Joan, or any of the fans reportedly sheltered, were injured in the incident. Joan has not yet issued a statement on the attack.
Previously, Ariana released a statement saying she felt “broken” after the incident, and that she doesn’t have words to describe the tragedy.

Greater Manchester Police say the man suspected of the bombing was 22-year-old Salman Abedi. CCTV footage of the bomber in the vicinity of Manchester Arena has been recovered, and investigations are continuing.
