BREAKING: Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has been taken to hospital after being injured in a car crash in Sydney’s Marrickville.
It is reported that the accident took place on Hill Street on Friday afternoon, and involved Albanese and one other car. Albanese was in the car alone.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has been involved in a car accident in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville.
He has been taken to hospital and is shaken but okay, according to his office.

Both parties are believed to be uninjured.
A spokesperson told 7News that the Opposition Leader was “heavily shaken” but “okay”. They also described it as a “serious accident.”
Witnesses at the scene say that it looked like Albanese was “T-boned” at an intersection.

UPDATE: Anthony Albanese posted a photo of the crash on his Instagram, and seemed to be in good spirits about it.
“I was already confident that I could handle anything 2021 might throw at me. Now I’m absolutely certain. Fortunate to survive a major car crash unbroken and emboldened. I appreciate all those who sent good wishes,” he wrote in the Instagram post.
“And a shout out and thanks to the paramedics, police, doctors, nurses, radiographers, orderlies, pathologists, cleaners and other RPAH staff who provided me with such good care.”
