Andrew Chan And Myuran Sukumaran Have Been Killed By Firing Squad

Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have been shot dead by a firing squad in Indonesia.
The two men were part of a group of eight to be executed on Nusakambangan island. Their executions took place at around 12.35am local time, or 3.35am Australian eastern time.
According to Indonesian Attorney-General Tony Spontanait took 27 minutes for all prisoners to be confirmed dead.
A vigil was held on the mainland, where those gathered said prayers for mercy, and a musician played a version of Leonard Cohen‘s ‘Hallelujah.’
Relatives and friends of the condemned were gathered in a tent near the execution site, and were reportedly “hysterical” when shots were heard ringing out.
One of Chan and Sukumaran’s lawyers Tweeted the following soon after:
In one tiny glimmer of hope, single mother Mary Jane Veloso, due to be executed with the group, was granted a reprieve. She is currently waiting to hear her fate, after a suspect in her case surrendered in the Philippines.
Those executed were:
Myuran Sukumaran (Australia)
Andrew Chan (Australia)
Martin Anderson (Ghana)
Zainal Abidin bin Mgs Mahmud Badarudin (Indonesia)
Raheem Agbaje Salami (Nigeria)
Silvester Obiekwe Nwolise (Nigeria)
Okwudili Oyatanze (Nigeria)

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of Chan, Sukumaran and all those killed.
