Scottish writer Irvine Welsh is truly a literary auteur. Whether you like him, love him or detest him, there is no denying his knowing and distinctive hold on the working-class British anti-heros and their vivd and disturbing worlds that he’s written about in his controversial and iconic (some would say “notorious) works of fiction, including Trainspotting, Filth and Porno.
His newly released collection of stories entitled “Reheated Cabbage” just brought Welsh to Australia – which included a stop in at the Perth Writers Festival for hugely entertaining expletive-riddled chat about his writing, some of his most prolific characters, and reads a few excerpts from the book – which includes the C bomb in virtually every sentence.
