Meanwhile, in a walk-up overlooking Manhattan, Amy Schumer is busy bathing in fat stacks of hundred-dollar bills – just like Oprah does every single day.
The Trainwreck star has reported inked a book deal worth up to $US10 million ($A14.11 million), after a fierce bidding war by publishers keen to get a piece of the comedy-memoir pie that’s been bitten into by the likes of Lena Dunham, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
According to Entertainment Weekly, interested editors were made to enter a bid for the rights to the still-unnamed book before they even got to *meet* Schumer.
That kinda competitiveness is a testament to publishers’ confidence that anything Amy touches turns to sold, no doubt helped along by her very recent Emmy win for sketch show Inside Amy Schumer, which she both both writes and stars in.
To give you an idea of just how big a coup $10M is, here’s how Amy’s book deal stacks up to other ladies in her league:
– Tina Fey reportedly received US$5-6 million for Bossypants
– Lena Dunham reportedly received US$3.7million for Not That Kind Of Girl
– Amy Poehler reportedly received US$3 million for Yes Please
Now she can afford to buy her own birthday cake, instead of stealing Jake Gyllenhaal‘s.
