Alexander McQueen Book – ‘Genius Of A Generation’

The first book about Alexander McQueen, his life story and incredible artistic triumphs – “Alexander McQueen, Genius of a Generation” – to be released after his tragic death, will go on sale on 7 May.

The 128-page volume traces McQueen’s remarkable life story: as a child drawing on the walls of his parent’s East London council flat, to his experience at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where he was “discovered” by fashion icon Isabella Blow, through the history of his beautiful, high-art, controversial shows, culminating in his final, fabulous – but unfinished – collection, shown posthumously, at A/W 2010/11 Paris Fashion Week.

Written by English fashion journalist Kristin Knox (who is also behind style blog The Clothes Whisperer), the book includes over 100 images of McQueen and his amazing work.

While this publication will be a fabulous memento for lovers of Alexander McQueen and his extraordinary artistic vision, it is just another unfortunate reminder of his death that was so tragic and premature.
