Alert Your Fiscally Responsible Childhood: Play School 50c Coins Are Coming

In celebration of the great Australian stalwart of children’s television programming, Play School, the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra is releasing Play School-themed 50c coins.

From Sunday, coins featuring Jemima, Big Ted and Little Ted and Humpty will be available for purchase for FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS (for the set) from the Mint. Sadly, they will not be in circulation, unless someone accidentally spends it while getting ripped off for tomato sauce.

The special edition coins are, of course, to commemorate Play School’s 50th anniversary, and while they’re great and all, we kiiiiiinda pipped them to the post with our tribute:
