Adelaide Had Not One Iota Of Bargain-Bin Chill At The First Aldi Opening

A brand-spanking new Aldi opened in Adelaide yesterday and blow me silly, the levels of enthusiasm South Australians can show for some cut-price faux brands is second to none.

This lady was particularly excited about fruit and sweat-sticks:

“Bananas… deodorant… all sorts of exciting things!”

This bloke was pretty antsy about getting a good park:

“I think everybody wants to get a park for Aldi, yeah. And some people are prepared to run other people over to get them.”

And this bloke just wanted to get even:

“He tried to push in front of me.”

THERE WAS AN ACTUAL, HONEST-TO-GOODNESS FIGHT, YOU GUYS. Cars were hit. Cops were called.

Channel 7 went down to cover the opening like the champs they are, and what you are about to see here is a fucking shoe-in for the broadcast journalism hall of fame.
