Accused Bourke St Driver Pleads Not Guilty To Theft, Assault & Drug Charges

Accused Bourke Street killer James Gargasoulas has pled not guilty to more than a dozen charges related to theft, assault and drugs.

He appeared via video link in the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court, pleading “not guilty” to all charges.

He’s accused of stealing two cars (in separate incidences), recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault, failing to answer bail, dangerous driving, possessing methyl-amphetamine, breaking and entering and theft.

They are unrelated to charges around the Bourke St rampage, which left five people dead and dozens more injured. He pled not guilty to all 39 of those charges in December last year.

These new charges will now be heard at the same time as his murder and attempted murder charges next month at the Supreme Court.
