ACCIO FUNDS: The ‘Harry Potter’ House Selling For Less Than A Shack In Syd

Wave your wand over the crumpled fivers in your wallet and hope they magically transfigure into a pile of galleons, sickles and knuts, ‘cos 4 Privet DriveHarry Potter‘s childhood home – is officially on the market.
The three-bedroom townhouse in Bracknell, near England‘s Reading, has been listed by Chancellors estate agent with an asking price of £475,000, or roughly AU$822,000.
That’s actually quite a bit of money for a house in that area, with only a v. small backyard, but can you imagine the money you could make renting it out to wholesome couples wanting to get kinky under those stairs on Airbnb?
Also worth noting: it’s still considerably less than the crumbling ruins of homes in Sydney and Melbourne with double the price tag – and none of the magic.
The house last sold in May 2010, for £290,000, so it’s not a bad return on investment for the outgoing owners, who have completely renovated the inside “to an extremely high standard”, according to the listing.
Have a geez:
It was back in 2001 that the house was chosen from hundreds of other properties to house the Dursleys; it was actually only used to shoot Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, after which the entire street was replicated on a Warner Bros studio for privacy.
