Aboriginal Man Gifts Sassy Cuppa Tea To Old Ladies After Racist Cafe Convo

It’s the little acts of kindness that really make the world go round, ain’t it?
Perth bloke Jarred Wall recently went out for a chilled lunch somewhere in Fremantle. His lunch was ‘great”, but unfortunately it was marred ever-so-slightly by two old ladies having a rather racist discussion at the next table.
Jarred happens to be an Aboriginal man, and was lunching with another (unnamed) person who is also Aboriginal – and unfortunately, some rather ignorant opinions of Indigenous Australians was the main topic of conversation for the two women.
Wall says there was some “less than distasteful” comments included, including “words like assimilation thrown around willy nilly”.
“I could have unleashed a tirade of abuse but that wouldn’t have helped. Instead, I did something nice and bought them a pot of tea and left a little note on the receipt.

Maybe these ladies will be a little wiser and think before they speak. Hopefully there won’t be a next time!”
Despite being an overly nice act considering the kinds of things being said, that’s not to say there wasn’t a bit of shade involved.
Wall concluded his post with the hashtags #Black LivesMatter and #EnglishBreakfastTea (which we’re thinking is a rather pointed yet subtle commentary on exactly who was responsible for the colonisation of, and treacherous acts against the First People of Australia).
Since being published on Thursday, the post has gone viral across the world, copping 20k likes and 2k shares.
HUGE. Fighting the fires of racism with tea is a pretty suave move, if we don’t say so ourselves. But that’s none of our business.
