A Stoner Food Joint Is Opening In Sydney Tomorrow At Precisely 4:20pm

File this one under “brilliant idea WHY DIDN’T IT HAPPEN SOONER.”

Sydney might be in the grips of some wildly unpopular and super restrictive alcohol lockout laws, but there ain’t a damned law in the land that’ll stop you from ripping a mad solo on the ole’ Gatorade Saxophone AM I RIGHT, PEOPLE.
And to compliment this suddenly golden age for baking, one absolute genius is taking full advantage of it by opening a stoner food paradise right in the heart of Newtown.
D’Munchies will swing its glorious doors open tomorrow at precisely 4:20pm (of course), and will focus on drawing in a clientele that’s just… just having a real good time, you guys.
Head chef and co-owner David Pyne is the mastermind behind the idea, and was blunt as to his motivations.

“It’s pretty obvious how the idea came about. It’s a very loud statement, but that’s sort of what we’re about. It’s for people who enjoy that, and that’s what we’re here for.”

“Nobody’s ever glassed someone while they’re stoned.”

“If you want to go out and smoke a joint, you should be able to.”

The new joint has a wild menu that will make the heart of the bonglord within weep with joy, and features such diabolical creations as pretzel baguettes, crunchy pretzel-infused ice-cream, burgers with prosciutto and brie, a goddamned pepperoni pizza hot dog, and the artery-quivering deep-fried ravioli nachos. Sweet lord.

The restaurant also features a make-your-own-ice cream station where you can mash all manner of fun stuff like sour worms or Fruit Loops into a tasty dessert.
And if the menu is all a bit much for you to handle and you lose your head, the place sports a map on the wall calmly directing you to Camperdown Park where you can chow down and bong on to your heart’s content.
‘Course it’s a little mystifying that they didn’t wait an extra week-and-a-bit to officially open at 4:20 on 4/20. But that’s neither here nor there.
The nights might be dark and boozeless, but the days in Sydney are a delicious stone groove, my friends.
D’Munchies has a dope website. You can look at it here.

They’ll be open from 4:20pm TOMORROW at 170 King Street, Newtown.
