A Bloke Abused Clementine Ford On Facebook & Now He Doesn’t Have A Job

As you may already be aware, feminist writer and speaker Clementine Ford cops some serious abuse online for her outspoken approach to gender equality. 

And by ‘cops abuse’, we’re talking name-calling, insults about her appearance, and threats of sexual assault and violence. It’s unnerving at least, and genuinely terrifying at most. We have interviewed Ford about this topic before, and some of the stories she told us about abuse she’d received was truly shocking. 

Ford recently called out one of her online abusers, a man identified as Michael Nolan, who sent her multiple comments and called her a slut in the comment section of one of her Facebook posts. She screen-shotted the comment, and a bunch of posts that he had on public on his own page – which, surprise surprise, included extremely racist and sexist content. 

Unfortunately for Michael, he also happened to publicly state on his Facebook where he worked…

Many will question if this is the right thing to do, and whether someone’s life should be ruined by something they post on the Internet. But, it turns out that the Internet IS a totally real part of life, and the things you do on the Internet, like calling women you don’t know ‘Slut’, can have real-world consequences. 

Like, for example, losing your job:

Most companies aren’t super chill with having employees who abuse women, or actively seek to harass and offend minorities. Why? Because it’s 2015 motherfucker, and 2015 ain’t got time for that shit.
