A Bad Batch Of GHB May Be Linked To Six Overdoses At A Sydney Club

Further details have emerged of the incident that saw six people rushed to hospital after suffering suspected overdoses at Sydney‘s popular Home nightclub in the early hours of yesterday morning.
NSW Police suspect that the two men and four women, all aged in their 20s, may have ingested a bad batch of the party drug GHB, and are now investigating the source of the drug and whether it was sold to any of the patrons.
Police say that a 24-year-old woman from Queensland, a 21-year-old from Lalor Park, a 28-year-old from Parramatta and a 29-year-old from Whalan were among those hospitalised.
It is believed that the two men, aged 24 and 25 and both from Belmore, were attending the club together before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.
Per News Corp reports, all six people have since recovered and been discharged, but gave only “limited and vague” answers when questioned by police.
Some reportedly said that they didn’t know what they had ingested, inferring that they may possibly have been victims of drink spiking. In the circumstances, police were unable to compel any of the six to give blood tests.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page
NSW Police remind anyone who may come forward that information they provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
