21-Year-Old Woman Dies From Falling Tree Branch At Lost Paradise Festival

A 21-year-old woman has died in hospital after being struck by a falling tree branch at the Lost Paradise music festival site in NSW‘s Central Coast.

Reports say she was helping set up the Glenworth Valley festival on Wednesday afternoon – the day before the festival officially kicked off – when she sat down and a tree branch snapped and fell on her head.

She was badly injured and went into cardiac arrest before being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics. Police have revealed she was taken to Westmead Hospital in a Careflight helicopter, where she arrived in a critical condition with head, spinal and shoulder injuries. Police also said the woman was living in Canberra.

Inspectors from Safe Work Australia attended the site – which was established as a crime scene by Brisbane Water Local Area Command – and are investigating the incident.

The identity of the woman has not been revealed to the public at this stage. We’ll be posting more on this story as it unfolds.
