19-Year-Old Man Arrested After Three Shot And Killed At US House Party

Three people have been killed and another injured after a mass-shooting at a house party in an affluent suburb of the US city of Seattle, with the alleged gunman, a 19-year-old university student, in custody.
It is alleged that Allen Ivanov, an incoming sophomore at the University of Washington, walked into a party “full of his friends” just before 12.30am on Saturay, and fired around 20 bullets before fleeing the scene.
It is understood that one of the victims was his ex-girlfriend. The three people killed have since been named as Anna Bui, Jake Long and Jordan Ebner, all of whom were former high school classmates of the shooter.
Ivanov, a computer science and engineering major and Apple Genius Bar employee, is one of the founders of Skirmos, an open-source laser tag system that raised more than $98,000 in a successful Kickstarter campaign
A former classmate, who asked to remain anonymous, spoke to reporters, saying:

“I can’t speak on what may have been going on in his home life or inside his head, but externally, he seemed to be doing pretty well. I don’t want to get this twisted and be painting him as this nice young man. He’s not. Obviously not. He’s a monster. And no amount of money or success can negate that.”

Police identified a 2016 Subaru matching the description of Ivanov’s in Lewis County, 160km away from the scene of the shooting. He was the only person of interest in the shooting, and was subsequently arrested.
One person remains in hospital in serious condition following the shooting. Mukilteo mayor Jennifer Gregerson said in a press conference:

“Our community has been shaken to its core. We grieve with the families of those lost in this horrible event. We will stand with them and be here for them. One thing is clear. Our community has suffered a great loss tonight. There were many young people who saw and heard things that no one should ever have to experience. I hope that we can all lift them up in our thoughts and give them space to mourn and grieve and begin the difficult process of recovery.”
