WATCH: Zan Rowe & Dr Karl Said A Tearful Farewell After 10 Years On Air

It’s not only the end of the year, it’s the end of an era at Triple J. A range of long-term personalities are finishing up with the broadcaster this week, but none more prominent than Zan Rowe, who ends a decade-long run as the lovely and very good host of Mornings. Though tomorrow’s show may be the final one of her Triple J run, today’s featured a very special other goodbye from Dr. Karl.

Karl Kruszelnicki has been a stalwart of Thursday mornings on Triple J, with Zan and Karl delving into curious questions of science every show for the last ten years.

As you tend to do with someone you work with for that long, the pair developed a warm and close relationship, and today’s farewell had more than its fair share of emotions.

What’s the scientific equation for YOU’RE BREAKING MY HEART OVER HERE??

Though the Zan and Karl ride has come to an end, there’s good news for fans of the periodic table. Dr Karl has confirmed he will return to Triple J Mornings next year, stepping into the booth on his regular Thursday slot opposite new host Linda Marigliano.

Zan, as you all know, has one final show tomorrow morning before she has a well-earned rest over Christmas. The long-time radio host is off down the hall next year to launch Mornings on sister station Double J.

Tomorrow’s show will see the usual Take 5 segment, but instead of a guest, Zan herself will be stepping into the chair with Marigliano subbing in to ask Rowe about her “five magical moments at Triple J.”

You might want to make a note to tune at 9am, mates. Tomorrow could be a little bit special.
