You Can Now Take Classes In Aussie Hip Hop

As both a qualified high school teacher with a masters degree in teaching (Sydney University) and a respected MC signed to iconic Sydney record label Elefant Traks, not many (if any) are as uniquely equipped as The Tongue aka Xannon Shirley to operate an overhead projector and teach nascent MCs how to forge a career for themselves.

And he’s doing just that, from the bedroom to the booth to the boardroom and beyond, talking songwriting and structure, finding your voice, navigating the music industry, ensnaring and engaging a fan base and maximising your social media channels in a comprehensive one day masterclass called How To Be A Rapper In Australia
Students will leave the session with workshopped lyrics for an original song, a completed tumblr that links all the artist’s social media channels, a ready-to-use artist biography, a 12 month action plan that will guide them towards their stated goals and a deeper understanding of the Australian music industry.
In other words you’ll go from this…
