Wrap Your Ears ‘Round The Story Of Peking Duk’s ‘Fluffy Butt Corgi’ Tattoos

Every once in a while, a story so brilliant that you couldn’t have engineered it better falls into your lap.

This is one such story.

Once upon a time… NAH JKS, at Bonds‘ 100th birthday celebration at Sydney’s Café Sydney on Wednesday, P.TV ran into one half of Peking Duk and all-round-legend, Adam Hyde.
We chewed the fat for a while, and then he mentioned he and Duk-in-arms Reuben Styles had got matching tattoos the day before. We asked to see, he complied.
Here it is:
At the time, we were too distracted by Iggy Azalea dacking Andy Lee to recognise its similarity to one of the Internet’s favourite cute things, the ‘Fluffy Butt Corgi‘.
Then we literally put two-and-two together:
LOOK AT HIS CUTE FLUFFY BUTT ON ADAM’S CUTE FLUFFY STOMACH… LOOK AT IT!
We knew there had to be a great yarn etched in that ink, so we rang Adam, who told us it was inspired by a long-running gripe between the boys and their manager Ben Dennis.
He’s the bespectacled, duck-face guy holding the bottle of Verve:
Adam explains:
“Me, Patrick Stevenson, our life coach and tour manager guy, and Reuben came up with this concept of a little corgi that can talk, walk and party and we gave him the name Tour Dog, because when you’er on the road, things can get stressful so we thought it would be fun to have one.

We told Dennis about our idea and he got really pissed off because logistically it [taking a dog on the road] makes no sense whatsoever. We saw how mad it was making him and we kept right on saying ‘Fuck, we wish Tour Dog was here’.

I live for corgis and we always used to show Dennis the picture of the ‘Fluffy Butt Corgi’ because he’s so adorable and it would piss him off even more.”
In LA and drunk in celebration of Reuben’s birthday last week, the trio decided that – actually – having the Fluffy Butt Corgi tattooed on them was a pretty fucking solid idea.
On their return to Sydney, they stopped by a random dude’s house in Redfern (he tattoos, professionally… they think) and he sketched them what would become the immortalisation of their manager’s lack of empathy towards the idea of Tour Dog, or T.D.
“It was better than we could have imagined, with the T.D on its butt,” says Adam.
What did Dennis make of the boys’ ink?
“We sent him a pic of the stencil and he wrote back something like, ‘Oh my god, you’re fucking kidding me’. But he secretly loves it, ’cause he knows it’s a tribute to his diss of our imaginary Tour Dog.”
Best bit is, you’ll get to see the boys’ tattoos in all their glory come 5pm, when a video of them streaking with Hamish & Andy goes live.
Here’s a preview to tide you over:

Even though Tour Dog will live on forever on the boys’ stomachs, Adam still hasn’t given up on on the dream of a real, live Peking Duk T.D to call their own.
“Oh yeah, I’m still determined it’s going to happen.  We’re pretty much like kids nagging our dads, even though Dennis is younger than us.”

Now let’s all watch a corgi twerk to the ‘Bubble Butt’ song, mmmk?
