WATCH: Cool Dad Will Smith Teases His First Tune After 13 Long Years

After releasing his album Lost and Found in 2005, Will Smith is about to drop his first song in 13 years because after decades of entertaining us with films like Men in Black, Independence Day, and not to mention The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – Smith is “re-energised and creating wildly like I used to.”

The 49-year-old teased the track on his Instagram overnight and in the snippet alone, we cop all the blessed success the man has earned over his twenty year career. Then right at the end of the teaser, Smith drags the tabloids for all the divorce rumours between him and wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Considering it’s been a bloody while since the legend has released music, fans are extremely keen with the news with two commenting “he’s back like he never left” and “why couldn’t you be my dad” on his Instagram.

There’s also a cute Youtube video of the talented man giving us a couple of words before he hits the studio.

In the video Smith explains that after pumping out films, television shows, and albums every year he started to feel empty so the musical hiatus was a way for him to reflect and refresh himself so he could get back to it when he was ready.

You can watch the video below:

The man just defies ageing.

Oh, and it also looks like Smith will have something to do with the official World Cup song for Russia 2018. Smith will reportedly release the track come Friday because why not put fans into a frenzy all at once?

Smith posted a pic with singer and songwriter Nicky Jam to his Instagram yesterday referencing the y’huge event and tagged Diplo, strefie, and the official FIFA World Cup account.

The World Cup kicks off 14 June.

Though we’ve copped the “Coming Soon” in place of a release date for his new single, all this promo has to place it sometime in the coming month so stay tuned.
