If you’ve ever dreamed of renting an insanely expensive one-bedroom apartment in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Silver Lake from the founder and frontman of slacker pop band Wavves, I have some incredible new for you: You can do that, right now.

Nathan Williams, who you might know from singing songs about weed and surfing (most notably that one song off the GTA V soundtrack), has posted on Instagram that he has eight “rehabbed” apartments up for rent in the complex, each going for $USD2995 a month ($4,180.48 in good old-fashioned Aussie dollarydoos).

Possibly because using your band page to run a real estate business seems like maybe the least cool thing you could possibly do, Williams got some negative feedback from fans, which he dealt with gracefully:

The apartments are nothing hugely special, timber floorboards, modern bathrooms, and a room that looks possibly large enough to have a bed and a couch but, I will admit it, the bay windows are a nice touch.
