WATCH: Trailer For Elliott Smith Documentary ‘Heaven Adores You’

Though he tragically took his own life way back in 2003, Elliott Smith‘s legacy is enduring, and his body of work still ranks of great importance in the indie musical pantheon.

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, the first trailer for Heaven Loves You, an “experimental” documentary focusing on the life and impact of the late singer, and his three adopted home towns of Portland, New York and Los Angeles.
According to the Kickstarter page, “This project aims to be a celebration of Elliott Smith, his contributions to the music industry and exploration of his posthumous influence on the artistic endeavors of those within the global community.
The film debuts at the San Francisco International Film Festival next week, and we’ve no idea when it will be available for your beady little eyes to witness (though the smart money says it’ll find its way out here during the upcoming Film Festival season).
Until then, here’s a couple of live performances to remind you of his work/make you melt into an inconsolable puddle of feels.
