It wasn’t that long ago that Tash Sultana was absolutely wailing on her guitar as a busker on Melbourne’s Bourke Street Mall, but the video clip for her brand new track Murder To The Mind demonstrates how far she’s come since then.
The literal answer is a couple of hundred metres, as the footage shows her crushing a gig at the nearby 170 Russell. Metaphorically speaking, the young muso is on another planet, and this lush track is just more proof.
Gentle keys provide the backbone to her signature croon, before a flourish of trumpet and a soul-stealing guitar solo take over. Keep ya ears peeled for more newies from her before her Splendour In The Grass appearance – and maybe keep tabs on any weirdly-talented buskers, too.
