WATCH: Someone Let Sydney Youth Orchestra Muzz Out To Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’

While a brutal storm pounded the coast of New South Wales last night, another was forming deep in the Sydney Recital Hall. Shielded from the punishing rain and gales, a different force burst forth: a storm, yes, but a Sandstorm.

Hold your groans, the Sydney Youth Orchestra actually busted out Darude’s gamechanging track, and for all intents and purposes, it was lit.

And, because some selfless hero decided to record the action at Vivid Sydney’s already iconic IGNITE: Symphonic Dance Anthems, the rest of the nation now knows what it sounds like when a full complement of classical musicians fulfil their true potential.

Absolute bliss.

For what it’s worth, the event threw the orchestra against DJ Dan Murphy – yup – along with a stack of local artists as they tore through a cavalcade of deadset 90s bangers.

Pack it up Björk, we’re just fine with our own take on late-20th century electronic music, thank you very much.
