To be perfectly blunt, it’s miraculous that we’ve managed to make it all the way to mid-March without someone covering the Hottest 100 winner for ‘Like a Version‘ yet.
But, all that said, that wait is definitely worth it when the end result is something like this.
Sydney two-piece Polish Club not only decided to take on the all-conquering Flume banger ‘Never Be Like You,’ (which Triple J listeners deemed to be such a hit they anointed it with the lofty mantle of Hottest 100 #1 where it now sits in the Valhalla-like echelons of music alongside world-defining jams like Oasis‘ ‘(Anyway Here’s) Wonderwall,’ Alex Lloyd‘s car ad staple ‘Amazing,’ and comedian Dennis Leary‘s ‘Asshole‘) but they put a rather spectacular jazzy spin on it, taking the song from smooth dance jam to rock freak out in record time.
It might only be the two of ’em, but that’s a hell of a big sound they’re able to make.
There ain’t nothing like a good old fashioned Two Piece Feed on a balmy Friday afternoon. You heard it here first, folks.
