Watch Police Shut Down A Vivid Stage Invasion At The Sydney Opera House

Video has emerged of a fairly hectic incident over the weekend, at which police took to the stage to break up a crowd during a Sydney Opera House set by Royal Headache, as part of the Vivid Live line-up.

The trouble began during the song ‘Down The Lane’ – many people who had been dancing in the aisles rushed the stage, and the band encouraged this, with singer Shogun handing the mic to a fan.
The crowd on stage continued to expand and grow rowdier during the next song, ‘Girls’, at which point, police and security took to the stage and began getting physical with punter to remove them.
Per reports in The Music, it was here when this “outpouring of excitement” turned ugly, with one witness saying “no one was trashing anything or hurting anyone, it was just like a normal Royal Headache gig.”
Shogun indicated that he would leave the stage, saying “thank you and goodnight, I don’t want to see my friends punched in the head by a bunch of fucking pigs, take it easy,” but the band eventually finished a shortened set.
