Outkast kicked off the first of the forty plus festival reunion tour dates with a headlining spot at Coachella this weekend, beginning a retrospective set with a performance of ‘B.O.B.’ before bringing Janelle Monae and Future out on stage for support, giving a shout out to industry icons like Prince and P. Diddy who watched on from the side, and closing the evening with a incongruously static performance of ‘Hey Ya’.
After a failed attempt to bring out the funniest interviewee ever Killer Mike for an encore performance, André 3000 concluded the set by saying, “I know it’s kind of weird, 20 years later n’ shit but thank y’all for coming.”
