WATCH: Norwegian Siren AURORA Covers Iconic ‘Teardrop’ On ‘Like A Version’

Well there it is, folks. A ‘Like A Version‘ made it into the top ten of a Hottest 100 countdown, definitively proving that anything is possible.
DMA‘s cover of Cher classic ‘Believe‘ managed to steam in at #6 overall on yesterday’s countdown, ranking as the highest place a LaV tune has reached in the J’s annual list.
This means that it’s now probably only a matter of time before a Friday effort tops the list overall. Probably.
And if that were to ever happen, heaven forbid, the breakthrough track could definitely be far, far worse than Norwegian Aurora‘s effort today.
The dreamy pop siren, currently in the country for Laneway Festival, took on Massive Attack‘s iconic 1998 hit ‘Teardrop,’ which is absolutely no mean feat. Seemingly undaunted by the task of living up to Elizabeth Fraser‘s original vocals, Aurora took a minimalist approach to the tune, accompanying it with a sparse guitar, some keys, and a stomp box on percussion.
It’s such an outrageously good tune, and her soaring Nordic vocals are more than up to the task.

Yes. Yes, please. I’ll take two of it.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be listening to ‘Mezzanine‘ on repeat for the rest of the day. Find me in a melted puddle on the floor in about 3 hours.
