It was decided when we were doing backstage interviews at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival in Sydney a few weeks back that we wanted to do something with ‘substance’ so instead of asking asinine questions about the artists’ creative inspirations we asked them to play a quick round of Would You Rather, featuring absurd music-related scenarios like “would you rather have Macklemore write a diss track about you or have Fergie officially join your band for a year?” or “would you rather hear the Sex and the City theme music every time you closed your eyes or have a bass guitar for a leg?”
A revealing swathe of well-reasoned answers (plus paternity jokes) emerged from local heroes Jagwar Ma, Vance Joy and Cloud Control as well as international artists Chvrches, Warpaint, Run The Jewels and Autre Ne Veut. Thanks for playing, guys.
