In the new video for “Blue Jeans”, Lana Del Rey ignores her found footage style to lie down on the floor, swim in a pool and play the languid love interest to inked “Born To Die” video star, Bradley Soileau. Shot entirely in black and white, the clip hinges on the ‘are they going to kill each other or marry each other?’ vibe found in all good film noir, Nick Cave’s Murder Ballads, every fibre of Chris Isaac and the black and white breakup clips of the nineties, which, judging from the amount of watery cutaways throughout, is totally what Lana is going for.
