WATCH: Lady Gaga’s Lungs Brought Their A-Game To The Super Bowl Anthem

When Americans go big, they blow the fucking top off, hey.

Lady Gaga and her heavy-duty lungs just delivered a performance of the US‘s #1 fave ever song about a flag – the Star Spangled-Banner – so bang on, tweets consisting of ‘Gaga’ and ‘slay’ are already at breaking-point.

Americans get pretty into this particular jam.

JUST LOOK AT THAT RAW EMOTION.

Oh, and this particular sequence of shots cleverly joined by utilising the humble cross-fade?

Not an accident.

No matter who receives the honour of performing the anthem at the Super Bowl, it’s a given that they’ll give the tune their own signature twist: a warble here, a few extra notes there.

The end result is a performance that is – *kisses fingers* – perfection, but bloody hard to sing along to.

But ultimately, the whole thing’s pretty adorbs. Grown men showing emotion. People coming together. An excuse to eat hot wings and the like.

Y’know, until we get to the end of the song and America literally turns into a parody of itself.

AMERICA ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US TO MAKE FUN OF YOU?
Because that’s how you get us to make fun off you.
Ifyaknowwhatwemean. 😉

The whole thing is below, watch / froth / vom / debate at will. As Nietzsche said, “All things are subject to interpretation. Whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth,” and this includes how many lambs were slaughtered to get the blood-tone of Gaga’s jumpsuit just right
