Your blue-haired pal Halsey has returned, and her brand new tune is ready-made to infiltrate every single one of your downbeat pop playlists.
Now Or Never is the first tune from her follow-up record Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. It sports that trademark clipped vocal delivery flittering above a reverb-heavy instrumental, courtesy of certified lush-lords Cashmere Cat, Benny Blanco and Happy Perez.
The track delivers another first, too: the music video is Halsey’s co-directorial debut, and its Mexico City gangland vibe borrows from that blown-out Baz Luhrmann aesthetic.
That makes sense, really, Both are purveyors of young, tragic romance pushed to its vibrant extremes. Compare the pair right below:
