Donald Glover / Childish Gambino has had a ripper of a year. His third studio album, Awaken, My Love! was released only six days ago, but is already garnering outta this world acclaim from critics. And, as he is wont to do, the enigmatic Donald keeps upping the stakes.
Today, he released a video of a live performance of Me and Your Mama, the record’s lead single. Straight-up concert recordings are pretty common for any artist, but let me tell you – straight-up this IS NOT.
Originally released on his multimedia happening / app experience Pharos, it’s a hellofa visual experience. While you’re watching, you can access a 360-view of the whole darn thing, from the bloody front row.
The recording comes from his September Joshua Tree concert, where Glover performed Awaken, My Love! for the first time. We so sincerely hope his glow-in-the-dark get-up manages to make it through the new year.
